As foreman Dan says, The block It’s a marathon and as we enter Week 9 on idyllic Phillip Island, the Blockheads are definitely hitting the wall.

Kristian and Mimi are especially disheartened, going from leaders at the start of the competition to Living and Dining Week idiots.
They will desperately need to find a second wind because this week will go down as one of the toughest yet – with 17 quarters in total being handed out between all teams. Damn.
But first, it’s time to open for inspections!
Kylie and Brad’s victory room takes the other teams’ breath away. Everyone agrees that it is a much deserved victory.
“Kylie and Brad just need to calm down about how amazing that room was,” says Courtney.
“Leave some style to the rest of us, Kylie and Brad,” agrees Grant.

This week is officially Office and Rumpus Week… but that’s not all. A few weeks ago, foreman Dan noticed a glaring omission in the plan and pointed out that there was no hallway week.
So Scott Cam and Shelley Craft decided to give the teams two weeks to complete them and judge them by…them. Yes, cue Shaynna, Darren and Marty! This schedule means that runners must be turned in this Thursday, before the usual Sunday deadlines.
This is Hellway Week with a twist!
House 1 has big plans, changing its floor plan to transform the upstairs mezzanine into a retreat space for guests. They turned their designated office space into a rumpus, turned the rumpus into a bedroom, and turned the bedroom into a living room.
It even had the approval of architect Julian Brenchley. Bold moves from the sisters!
House 5 has also revamped things, so they need to complete a mess, an extra bedroom and of course their hallways. If they can afford it – because they are $31,000 over budget.

Scotty interrupts planning for a special announcement. He invited Alice from Domain to announce this year’s Listing Challenge, one of the most important days of the The block.
Teams will create their domain listings and then host a party for potential buyers. The team that gets the most votes will win a HUGE $50,000 in cash. How’s that for a prize?
Party plans are underway. From Mimi bringing her parents over for Pad Thai to a shirtless waiter (named Ricky) at House 3, things are about to get interesting.
House 4, however, is working to solve a big problem: last week, its real estate agent quit.
They have to quickly come up with a plan B, but luckily it works even better than before! They arrange a dream collaboration between local agent Greg Price, who knows the area, and Michael Townsend of McGrath Real Estate in Melbourne, who has won several Blockis in the past.
While Kylie and Brad are radiant, the mood is completely opposite in the 5th House.
The week has barely started, but foreman Dan has already closed the place until they clean up a huge mess on the job site.
Kristian’s frustration turns into an argument with Dan, and he becomes visibly emotional.
Mimi admits that she finds it difficult to provide comfort and reflects that she has adopted behaviors that she witnessed growing up and that she wants to change.
Winners Kylie and Brad head off to the winners’ dinner and spend the night out, but first it’s time to travel in style – in a helicopter for a bird’s-eye view of The block!
When they arrive back on Earth, they are greeted by some very special All Stars, 2022 contestants, Tom and Sarah-Jane. Tom is working on location this season, so Kylie and Brad are thrilled to finally meet Sarah-Jane too.
With the win and two 10s, Kylie and Brad leave the dinner with $30,000!
The other contestants eat dinner, courtesy of idiots Kristian and Mimi, before a frantic clean-up to get the houses ready for real estate photos in the morning.
Ricky and Haydn are all cleaned up and ready early in the morning, but they’re sharing the same agency as House 2. The photographer went there first, leaving them to hang around for a wasted few hours. Oops.
Oh no. Charlotte discovered a “disaster” miscommunication for her and Maddy’s elaborate mezzanine redesign.
They sought Foreman Dan’s approval for a door and spiral staircase to create a self-contained loft, and they can prove it!
Charlotte shows a photo of Maddy and Dan with a signed piece of paper showing her approval – but somehow, this has fallen by the wayside and venue manager Aiden says this can’t happen without lots of extra time and money.
Without the entrance, the girls say there is no point in continuing with plans for the mezzanine.
“We might as well give it all up,” Maddy shouts.
Two hours later, Aiden arrives with a deal. As they have already approved everything with foreman Dan, they will build the stairs and the entrance.
Crisis averted for House 1.
“Thank God for that, but it was a very stressful few hours,” says Maddy.
Kristian has been cleaning all night and his schedule hasn’t slowed down all day, so he’s on edge. It doesn’t help that Mimi is, once again, asleep.
The stress of it all is taking a toll on their relationship and peer discussion.
“Do better,” they each yell at each other.
And to think that Hellway Week has only just begun!
Tomorrow night, it’s time for our Blockheads to trade in their high visibility for something a little fancier and roll out the welcome mat – it’s time for the Buyers’ Jury, and it looks like some very familiar faces have made the guest list. See you there!
